CB1 is a new city quarter for Cambridge, developed by our client Brookgate Property Ltd. This new gateway to the city has been built next to the railway station on a neglected brownfield site. The regeneration of the area has included a hub for business, retail units and residential apartments.
Silk Pearce has been involved in the scheme from its early marketing phase in 2010 through to the signage and way finding deployment for the completed development. Our initial concept for CB1 made extensive use of a play on words. The tagline ‘see, be’ was used to engage the public and bring consistency to the marketing items, which ranged from hanging banners to a community website.
Marketing for the office space has included printed literature, digital campaigns and constantly evolving site hoardings, all designed in-house by Silk Pearce. The business sector is now occupied by major corporations such as Amazon, Microsoft and Mott MacDonald.
CB1 is an attractive gateway to Cambridge, with part of the marketing buzz created by Sarah McMenemy's lively illustrations. The regenerated area has been transformed to make it an inviting place to live, stay, shop and eat.
